Double Twist Wins First at Heseltine Gallery

Double Twist won first prize, and Looping Mobius was ‘Highly Commended’ in the recent exhibition at the Michael Heseltine Gallery. Tom entered three pieces into the competitive exhibition, as part of Oxford Art Weeks. As a former pupil of Chenderit, he was pleased to see his work on display there.

His next exhibition will be at Bothy Vineyard (facebook page) from 8th-23rd September, where you can see Double Twist, Looping Mobius, and at least one new work by Tom.

Tom continues to support the Heartstone Fund (Fund’s Facebook Page) in memory of his mentor, Lendon Scantlebury.

Video charting the story of Tom’s apprenticeship with sculptor Lendon Scantlebury

Every year, artist Lendon Scantlebury took on a young student apprentice and gave them the opportunity to not only learn from him but also create a one-off piece of art to be displayed at a large public show. Tom was fortunate enough to be Lendon’s apprentice in 2016, and Lendon became a close friend as well as a mentor.

Tragically, Lendon died in early 2017. He is greatly missed. This is the video that was made about the story of Tom’s apprenticeship.
